On September 29, 2023, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine held a concert of modern Ukrainian music in the Refectory Church of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. This was reported by the press service of the National Reserve.
They noted that the concert featured works by composers Valentyn Silvestrov, Volodymyr Zahortsev and Bohdan Sehin.
According to one of the curators of the concert, Alexandra Vasilyeva, the Refectory Church of the Lavra is a place with “the best acoustics” for the performance of musical works.
“Organizing this concert, a concert of modern Ukrainian music within the walls of the Lavra, was a challenge and at the same time a blessing. The synergy of space, time and music that formed a miracle. <...> It was truly a Ukrainian space. Ukrainian Lavra, where everyone can hear what appeals to them specifically,” she wrote on her Facebook page.
As the UOJ reported, a concert was held in the Refectory Church of the Lavra, at which a song about the “murder of a Muscovite” was performed.
