On December 24, 2020, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky congratulated Ukrainians of the Western rite “and millions of people around the world” on Christmas and wished “healthy holidays”. The video of the congratulation was posted on Zelensky's Facebook.

In his congratulations addressed to those who celebrate Christmas according to the Gregorian calendar, Zelensky noted that “the birth of the Son of God in Bethlehem gave people hope for salvation, as well as the belief that goodness and mercy will surely win”.

The head of state noted that “we keep a distance, but we do not turn away from each other. We wear masks, but we want to see smiles on the faces of our parents, our loved ones, our children, our Ukraine. May harmony come to every family with Christmas, prosperity to every home, and millennial peace and prosperity to the Ukrainian land”.

At the end of his congratulations, Vladimir Zelensky wished “everyone a merry, warm, tasty, and most importantly – healthy Christmas holidays”.

As reported, the bishop of the UGCC called to get away Moscow and accept the Gregorian calendar.
