“The film immerses the viewer in the life of one of the monasteries of Mount Athos,” says the announcement. “A secluded monastic life, full of authentic characters and ‘everyday saints’, breaks out onto the screen from the underneath of our worldly priorities. A story about a completely unprecedented way of life in a living monastic community in the middle of the twenty-first century appears before the viewer's eyes.”
We recall that for the first time the documentary film "Where are you, Adam?", filmed with the blessing of the deceased abbot Gregory (Zumis) of Athonite Dochariou Monastery, was shown at the XVII International Festival of Orthodox Cinema "Pokrov" in October 2019. The film also took part in the Tallinn International Film Festival "Dark Nights", the Krakow International Film Festival and the Vyborg Festival "Window to Europe".
The premiere of the documentary in Ukrainian cinemas took place on September 3, 2020. The film was also released in Russian and Belarusian cinemas.
Earlier, the UOJ published an interview with one of the creators of the film "Where are you, Adam?", Protodeacon Alexander Pliska.
