On 31 October 2023, Israel's Permanent Representative to the UN, Gilad Erdan, and other Israeli diplomats came to a Security Council meeting wearing patches in the shape of the yellow six-pointed star that the Nazis forced Jews to wear during the Holocaust, reports vesty.co.il.
Addressing the diplomats present during the UN Security Council meeting, Erdan said: "If such a meeting had been held in June 1944, you would have been discussing the humanitarian crisis in Germany due to fuel shortages, and you would have been lamenting that there were far more casualties in Germany than in Britain."
"And certainly, you would have been calling for an immediate ceasefire long before the Russians liberated Stalingrad," he noted.
Gilad Erdan recalled that the world was silent when Nazis burned Jewish babies at Auschwitz. "Today, when Hamas Nazis burned Jewish babies in Be'eri and other southern Israeli settlements, the world is silent again," he said, pointing to his yellow star: "I want to remind you what this means. I will make you remember."
He said some of the representatives of other nations at the UN have learned nothing from the past 80 years and have forgotten why the organisation was founded.
"So, I will remind you. From this day on, whenever you see me, you will be reminded what it means to be silent in the face of evil. Like my grandparents, like the grandparents of millions of Jews, from now on, my team and I will wear yellow stars. We will wear them until you wake up and condemn the atrocities of Hamas," the Israeli representative said.
Erdan said the six-pointed yellow star he wears will symbolise the Jewish people's strength and determination to fight until victory.
"The state of Israel is strong, we will not stop until we crush Hamas and return the kidnapped," he added and compared Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to Adolf Hitler.
"The Ayatollah regime (in Iran) is the same Nazi regime, Khamenei is the same Fuhrer, and Iran's Nazi army includes thugs from Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, Houthi militias and other terrorist organisations. If Hitler had a social media account, it would look just like Khamenei's," Erdan said.
As reported, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said that he wanted to fulfil the prophecy of Isaiah.
