Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi announced that there is no longer a place in the 117th Congress for such words as "mother", "father", "son" and "daughter" – Democrats want to replace them with gender-neutral ones, according to Russtrat telegram -channel.

According to Pelosi, the proposed package of changes "will respect all gender identities by making pronouns and terms used in parliament gender neutral." Changes will be added to the rules of procedure of the House of Representatives.

The following words are censored: father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, cousin, nephew, niece, husband, wife, father-in-law, mother-in-law, daughter-in-law, stepfather, stepmother, stepson, stepdaughter, half-brother, half-sister, grandson, granddaughter.

The above words will be replaced by "gender neutral". For example, instead of the word “daughter” or “son”, one should use the word “child”. The words "grandchild" and "granddaughter" will be replaced by the term "grandchild".

In addition, official positions are being transformed in accordance with gender-neutral terminology. For example, instead of Chairman, one would say chair.

Changes in the regulations are going to be adopted once the new Congress has been convened.

The UOJ previously wrote that the Oxford Dictionary changed the definitions of "man" and "woman" in favor of LGBT people.
