The "UA: Pershy" TV channel, which included religious services in its broadcast "within the framework of long-term cooperation with confessions", has "its own agreements" with the OCU, UGCC and RCC. Sports program producer Nikita Khorozov told Tribuna.com about this in an interview.

“During the pandemic, the “Suspilny” channels took on the mission to meet the needs of believers who have a limited ability to visit worship during lockdown,” he said. “There are a lot of such viewers among the audience of "UA: Pershy". OCU, Greek Catholic, Roman Catholic churches – we have our own agreements with them."

Under these conditions, the producer added, the channel is trying to find solutions that “would satisfy the highest possible amount of viewers,” besides, “the screenings of church events are very good – 4-5% of the audience share. We would like to receive good indicators for all products, so the channel made such a decision.”

We will remind, earlier the Ministry of Culture confirmed that the UOC has almost twice as many parishes as the OCU.

As the UOJ reported, with the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, the National Public Television and Radio Company of Ukraine (NOTU) announced weekly live broadcasts of the services of six church structures. The services of the UOC were not included in the program of the NOTU channels.
