Chancellor: OCU dissenters are heirs of self-ordained who ruined the Church

The current schismatics, who have been recognized by some Local Churches, are the successors of the self-ordained persons who destroyed the Orthodox Church, said Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, Chancellor of the UOC, in Arkady Mamontov's film “Self-ordained”.
For a long time, the Local Churches have revered the feat of our previous generations, who suffered for their faith during the atheistic persecutions, Vladyka Anthony noted.
It is all the more strange that some of the hierarchs of these Local Churches have now recognized people who are not ashamed of their connection with the self-ordained of the 20th century as legitimate priests.
“As regards the present schismatics, they are the successors of the self-ordained,” said the UOC Chancellor. “Those who destroyed the Orthodox Church, those who reported about our Orthodox priests to certain institutions and bodies."
Therefore, such a radical change in position by some representatives of the Local Churches causes misunderstanding, Metropolitan Anthony emphasized.
“It turns out that for a long time there was a correct assessment, but now everything has changed and they consider that these self-ordained should belong to the true Church,” he said. "This is a strange rationale, which, to be honest, is incomprehensible to me."
As the UOJ reported, Metropolitan Anthony warned that unrepentant schismatics become heretics.
