Officials of the Ministry of Culture have announced the completion of the work of the "commission for the acceptance-transfer of state property of the National Architectural and Historical Reserve 'Chernihiv Ancient.'" This was reported on the ministry's website.

According to officials, the commission inspected 18 objects of the Yeletsky and Troitsky monasteries, the Transfiguration Cathedral, the Pyatnytska and Yekateryninska churches, which were used by the "UOC MP."

The ministry assured that the objects are in "unsatisfactory condition" and require repair, restoration, and conservation work.

The commission also recommended the "museumification of the monuments."

As stated in the announcement, "This should be preceded by urgent comprehensive research and design work, which will be completed by the end of this year."

"The commission handed over for signing to the acting director of the Reserve, Andriy Lesovyi, the Act of acceptance-transfer of state property of the National Architectural and Historical Reserve 'Chernihiv Ancient,' confirming the transfer of state property for use by the Reserve – a total of 18 objects," the statement said.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Ministry of Culture inefficiently spent 4.2 billion allocated for museums.
