On December 12, 2023, medical professionals admitted Metropolitan Longin, who had endured a serious stroke in the summer. The information was shared with the UOJ by a source at the Bancheny Monastery.
According to the source, the UOC hierarch was admitted to the hospital due to heart problems, and doctors have already diagnosed him with atrial fibrillation.
Parishioners and clergy at the Bancheny Monastery, where the bishop serves, are asking believers to pray for their spiritual father.
The monastery is convinced that the bishop's illness is related to the constant pressure exerted by the authorities, court hearings, and searches that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) attempted to conduct at Banchensky.
As reported by the UOJ, Metropolitan Longin of Bancheny had previously suffered a severe stroke.
