The head of the UGCC Sviatoslav Shevchuk, in an interview with "Espreso", voiced the claims of his structure on the main Orthodox shrines of the country.
"I hope that one day we will have our own place for prayer even at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, St Sophia’s and the Pochaiv Lavra," Shevchuk said.
At the same time, he said, the Uniates will not claim property rights to these shrines.
"We are talking about the spiritual space of unity, brotherhood, true communication with God and with our brothers and sisters," assured Shevchuk.
As reported, Shevchuk said that the UGCC is working on the "return" of the Pochaiv Lavra.
