On March 7, 2021, on Meat-Fast Week, the vicar of the Volyn Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Bishop Athanasius (German) of Kamen-Kashirsky, performed a divine service in the temporary St. Boris and Gleb church of the persecuted Orthodox community in the village of Romaniv, Lutsk region, reports the eparchial press service.
The bishop was concelebrated by the parish rector, Archpriest Nikolai Davidiuk.
During the service, they offered up a fervent prayer for peace in Ukraine and the unity of world Orthodoxy. They also prayed for combating coronavirus infection and for medical workers.
In conclusion, Father Nikolai thanked the bishop for the archpastoral visit and asked him to always remember the Orthodox community of the village of Romaniv in his prayers.
In 2019, by order of the acting head of the Volyn Regional State Administration, the Sts Boris and Gleb Church of the UOC in the village of Romaniv, which is an architectural monument, was handed over to the OCU. Now the persecuted Orthodox community is praying in a temporary church.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the head of the UOC, Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich) met with the rectors of the churches of the Volyn Eparchy, seized by the schismatics.
