The lawyer of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Archpriest Nikita Chekman published on his Telegram channel a message about the work of the Legal Defence Centre to help UOC believers.
According to him, the laity and clergy can apply to the Legal Defence Centre both for personal consultations and on issues related to church affairs.
"The Centre already employs experienced lawyers who have different experience in handling cases of varying complexity. We will be able to provide qualified advice on all matters on which you will approach us. Regarding further support of cases, priority will be given to church cases on the protection of the rights of believers and the protection of religious communities," said Fr. Nikita.
As for personal cases, the lawyer noted that in such cases lawyers will provide consultations and advise on whom to contact for representation of interests.
"We all unite around Christ because if we are with God, no one can hinder us. We must understand this and with God's help we will move forward, increase the legal literacy of our believers, prevent arbitrary behaviour of public authorities and defend our rights," he added.
As reported, the Legal Defence Centre was opened in Kyiv to provide legal assistance to UOC communities.
