The state authorities of Ukraine actually ignore religious conflicts, which is why the faithful of the UOC have been under pressure from schismatics for several years, Archpriest Vitaly Durov, rector of the St. Michael's church in the village of Zadubrivka in the Chernivtsi region, the Information Center of the UOC reported on its FB page.
According to him, due to the inaction of the authorities in the Chernivtsi-Bukovina Diocese, the faithful of the UOC have been forced to guard their church around the clock for the third year already. “The authorities are not taking any action to handle this conflict. If you take our diocese, we have the villages of Zadubrivka and Mykhalcha, where people have been praying in the church for the third year already and protecting it,” said Father Vitaly.
He noted that in the Chernivtsi-Bukovina Diocese of the UOC, the clergy, together with the parishioners, are steadfastly enduring persecution. For example, the archpriest of the church in Zadubrivka said that out of 450 priests of the diocese, only two went over to schismatics.
As the UOJ reported, patriots must respect the laws of Ukraine, stressed the priest of the UOC from Zadubrivka, where believers have been defending their church from the encroachments of schismatics for about two years.
