On February 6, 2024, another meeting of the "unity of Ukrainian Orthodoxy" took place in St. Sofia Cathedral of Kyiv, attended by clergy of the OCU, some priests of the UOC, representatives of State Ethnopolitics, and public organizations. This was reported by the press service of the newly established organization "Sofia Brotherhood".
In particular, the round table "Church, society, state: dialogue for unity and victory" was attended by the UOC's outstaffed cleric Andriy Pynchuk, priests Volodymyr Sorokin, Volodymyr Davydov, Serhiy Barshay, Petro Zuyev, the cleric of the OCU Georgiy Kovalenko, the head of DESS Viktor Yelensky, philosopher Oleksandr Filonenko, DESS expert Andriy Smirnov, and the exarch of the Phanar Bishop Mikhail of Comana. The latter attended the meeting as an observer.
However, the organization did not provide any details about the meeting itself.
At the same time, the head of the Synodal Information Department of the UOC, Metropolitan Clement, told the UOJ that he knew nothing about any clergy of the UOC being blessed to participate in the conference.
"I am not aware of who delegated them. I know nothing about it," he said.
As reported by the UOJ, the Ministry of Culture gathered members of the OCU and priests from the UOC at St. Sofia Cathedral.
