The Patriarchate of Constantinople is very dissatisfied with the position of the Macedonian Orthodox Church to the OCU, reports orthodoxia.info.

According to "well-informed sources" of orthodochia.info, " the Ecumenical Patriarchate is watching with concern the attitude of the Skopje archpriests and under the current circumstances there is not the slightest intention for any action" to grant the Macedonian Church the Tomos of autocephaly.

The publication writes that Macedonia is "entering a long electoral process", and "people who know people and situations in the neighbouring country well note that the outcome of these elections will also determine the attitude of the Church".

" For the time being, everything shows that the attitude of the Archdiocese of Ohrid (i.e. the Macedonian Church – Ed,) is s in the direction of supporting the Russian-Serbian plans for the emergence of a new way of granting autocephaly, bypassing Constantinople and the practice that gave rise to all the autocephalous Churches, except of course the ambassadorial Patriarchate and the Archdiocese of Cyprus," writes othodochia.info.

As earlier reported, according to Metropolitan Timotej of Debar and Kičevo of the Macedonian Church, the Phanar will not recognise the autocephaly of the Macedonian Church because of the OCU.
