Macedonian Church sets up a commission to study the status of the OCU

On February 29, 2024, a regular working session of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Macedonian Orthodox Church - Ohrid Archdiocese was held, according to the official website of the Macedonian Church.

According to the Macedonian Church website, this Synod paid "serious attention to the study of the Ukrainian church issue". The Synod also established a commission to study the status of the OCU, which "received autocephaly from the Ecumenical Patriarchate". Metropolitan Hilarion of Bregalnica became the chairman of the commission, and Bishop Joachim of Deladrova-Ilinden became the vice-president.

Earlier, on March 28, 2023, the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Macedonian Orthodox Church decided "not to concelebrate with representatives of the OCU until the final settlement of the problem of its status at the level of the entire World Orthodoxy."

Earlier, it became known that Macedonian bishops would report on services with hierarchs of other Churches.
