With the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, a campaign called "Sretenka Candle" took place in the capital's UOC temples. Church communities raised funds and made candles for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was reported by the Church Helps Telegram channel on March 6, 2024.

Believers donated 206,000 UAH to purchase two tons of paraffin.

During the campaign in Kyiv temples, in addition to 4,200 trench candles, 2,700 special bunker candles were additionally made at the request of the soldiers.

"We thank everyone who participated with funds and effort. The rectors of the temples, caring parishioners, and all people of goodwill who shared the warmth of their hearts with our defenders," said the head of the Synodal Social Department, Archpriest Sergei Ekshyan, expressing gratitude to the donors and participants of the campaign.

As it was previously reported, in Khmelnytskyi, the UOC raised 80,000 UAH at a charity fair to purchase an evacuation vehicle for the soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
