Law enforcers in Cherkasy are sabotaging the investigation of criminal cases against people who beat up UOC believers and seized the Nativity of the Mother of God Monastery, MP Artem Dmytruk said on his Telegram channel.
He pointed out that 5 criminal proceedings were opened against the bandits – infliction of light and medium injuries and forging documents for the church raiding.
According to the MP, "Investigators are inactive, do not get in touch with lawyers and refuse to interview both the victims and the bandits who seized the shrine."
"Some cases are currently under the control of the Military Prosecutor's Office, as among the attackers were active servicemen of the AFU – the commander of the 2nd Assault Battalion of the 3rd OShBr Dmytro Kukharchuk (call sign - "Slip") and his deputy Ihor Zaichuk. And even here the lawyers are not given the opportunity to examine the materials!" writes Dmytruk.
According to him, "There is an impression that not only militants in uniform but also the authorities and law enforcers were involved in the seizure of the monastery. It is they who today delay the investigation of cases and in every possible way contribute to the fact that the perpetrators were not held accountable."
"The Ministry of Interior must give a clear and articulate explanation why so far these bandits who violated the Law have not been interrogated. Why have they not been charged with suspicion so far? The videos that have gone viral worldwide clearly show who beat, who was beaten and how they were beaten. Why are the investigators still not allowing the lawyers to examine the case file? How many more people should suffer to cause a reaction by the laws of Ukraine?!" writes the MP.
As earlier reported, the lawyer claimed the police inaction in the case of the beating of Cherkasy believers.
