President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky called on the UOC, OCU and UGCC to tell their believers about the importance of vaccination against COVID-19. He said this on April 28 at a meeting with religious leaders, which was attended by the Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, reports the website of the President of Ukraine.

Vaccination is the only way to overcome the pandemic, Zelensky noted, "That's why it's also important for us that people who come to your churches for help hear about the importance of vaccination".

In addition, the President was informed at the meeting that the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations had reached a common position on vaccination. According to it, there is no religious reason not to vaccinate, and vaccination must be safe, accessible and voluntary.

As reported, Zelensky met with His Beatitude Onuphry and the heads of the OCU and the UGCC to discuss with them the upcoming celebration of Easter under quarantine restrictions.
