"Thank God that the whole world is already talking about these crimes! They talk about it there, but unfortunately, not here!" reacted MP Artem Dmutruk to the UN statement about the intimidation of believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
The MP wrote on his Telegram channel that UN experts recorded six cases of violent seizures of temples. International human rights activists also, commenting on the state of religious freedom in Ukraine, stated that clergy and parishioners of the UOC continue to be subjected to intimidation.
"Thank God that the whole world is already talking about these crimes! They talk about it there, but unfortunately, not here!" Dmytruk noted. "Everyone who spoke out is in pre-trial detention, facing life imprisonment" in contrast to those "who raid temples". Artem Dmytruk is convinced, "they will continue to beat peaceful people, believers, and they will not be held accountable for it, as practice has shown!"
As the UOJ wrote, any criticism of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) today leads to accusations under all articles, while insults to the feelings of UOC believers are not even investigated.
Earlier, the Union of Orthodox Journalists called for joining the fundraising for legal assistance to arrested UOJ employees.
