The Chancellor of the UOC, Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, said on his Facebook page that the UOC delegation had received the Holy Fire and was heading for Ukraine.
“Great mercy of the Lord! The Holy Fire is here! A few minutes ago, our delegation received it from the clergy of the Jerusalem Orthodox Church, who were present in the Сhurch of the Holy Sepulchre,” said Metropolitan Anthony. “In a few hours we will bring the Holy Fire to the blessed Ukrainian land. It will be delivered to the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, from where it will be distributed to all dioceses of the UOC so that believers can get in touch with the miracle, which happened in the Holy Land on Great Saturday."
Earlier the Holy Fire descended in the Church of the Resurrection of Christ over the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem at 13:55 by Kyiv time.
