On April 13, 2024, a group of so-called OCU activists and representatives of local authorities organized a meeting in Brovary, Kyiv region, with the aim of "transferring" the UOC parish in honor of the Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessaloniki into their structure. The process was headed by an odious deputy from "European solidarity" in Brovary city, Council Bogdana Drach, reports the Telegram channel Dozor_kozak1.
"Raiders acted according to the classic scheme. They organized a meeting of the territorial community, where people who have nothing to do with the parish of the temple, vote for the 'transition to the OCU'," the message said.
Bohdana Drach, who led this action near the local market, is known for the fact that a year ago she took an active part in the brutal seizure of the Intercession church of the UOC in the village of Trebukhiv, Kyiv region. As journalists recall, she and her accomplices then threw the Bible out of the temple, calling the holy scripture "garbage".
"Local residents testify that the Deputy herself is a Greek-Catholic. The video shows how Drach and other accomplices of the crime did not even recognize the real parishioners of the temple, who came to fix the offenses," wrote in the channel.
At the same time, the parishioners of the temple of St. Demetrius of Thessaloniki in Brovary gathered at the meeting of the religious community and unanimously witnessed their decision to remain in the bosom of the UOC.
Previously, a Eurosolidarity MP in Brovary announced the transfer of the church to the OCU.
