SBU employees detain Metropolitan Arseny of Sviatohirsk

On April 24, 2024, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine conducted searches at the Sviatohirsk Lavra.

According to UOJ sources, searches are being conducted by employees of the Security Service of Ukraine at the Sviatohirsk Lavra.

At the moment, the monastery is blocked, and believers are not allowed in. The abbot of the monastery, Metropolitan Arseny of Sviatohirsk, was detained by law enforcement officers and taken to Slavyansk.

A source told the UOJ journalists that in Slavyansk, Metropolitan Arseny was taken for questioning, from where he would be transferred to Dnipro for a court decision.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that on September 23, 2023, the police and the SBU blocked buses and cars with pilgrims who were heading to the Sviatohirsk Lavra for the Feast of the Synaxis of All Venerable Fathers Who Shone forth in the Holy Mounts of Donets.
