Khmelnytskyi court rejected the recusal of Judge Volodymyr Navrotskyi at the request of Roman Kosiuk, the defender of the accused, in the case of assaulting a military by the assistant to the priest of the Khmelnytskyi Holy Protection Cathedral, reports Suspilne.

This decision is not subject to appeal. The date of the next hearing will be announced after all participants in the process agree on the date and time.

In May 2023, the Khmelnytskyi court, chaired by Judge Volodymyr Navrotskyi, initiated criminal proceedings against the deacon of the Khmelnytskyi Holy Protection Cathedral, Ihor Slobodian, under Part 2 of Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: "Intentional minor bodily harm causing short-term health disorder or insignificant loss of working capacity."

As reported by the UOJ, Ihor Slobodian, the subdeacon who "assaulted the military officer", explained how the events, leading to the seizure of the cathedral, actually unfolded.
