Statements by the authorities that there are no religious problems in Ukraine is a childish position that causes outrage among millions of Ukrainians who disagree with this. So Ruslan Bortnik, a political expert, Director of the Ukrainian Institute of Politics, commented on the words of the head of the President's Office Andrey Yermak that “today in Ukraine all confessions feel free and independent”.

“This is a repetition of the President’s thesis that we have no religious problems,” the expert explained in a comment to the UOJ. "But it reminds me of an attempt to close the eyes – a childish position: if a child does not want to see and hear something bad, he/she closes the eyes and shuts the ears."

He stressed that this position of the authorities causes deep indignation among millions of Ukrainian citizens who do not think so.

“Today practically all international organizations speak about the presence in Ukraine of problems with discrimination of citizens of some religious confessions, the whole society speaks about it. It is bad that the head of the President's Office does not notice this,” added Ruslan Bortnik.

Earlier Ruslan Bortnik explained why the meeting of the head of the President's Office Andrey Yermak with the hierarch of Phanar, which took place in Kyiv on May 27, is a violation of the Constitution of Ukraine.
