On June 1, 2021, a preparatory hearing of the Lutsk City District Court was held on the claim of the priest of the Volyn Eparchy of the UOC Vladimir Meles against the OCU community in the village of Sadiv, which is trying to evict his family from the church house, reports the eparchy’s official website.
The priest asks the court to overturn the decision of the state registrar to re-register the ownership of his residential building to the OCU community. At the request of Father Vladimir, the court decided to request for copies of household books for a residential building from the village council. The court requires a copy of the registration file from the private notary Natalya Kurta, on the basis of which she re-registered the house on May 15, 2020, having the powers of the state registrar.
The head of Sadiv Ivan Shendiukh and the “priest” of the local community of the OCU Nazar Partyka were summoned to the court session as witnesses. “These documents and witnesses should just confirm the legality or illegality of the actions of the state registrar when registering ownership of a residential building for the OCU community,” reports the Volyn Eparchy of the UOC.
