The lawyer of the Orthodox journalist Valeriy Stupnitsky stated that there are grounds for doubting the results of the state expertise conducted regarding the UOJ-published materials.
The lawyer mentioned that during the three months of his client's detention in the pre-trial detention center (SIZO), he was never called in for questioning, and from the pre-trial investigation resolutions and motions that the defense managed to review, "it is not clear at all why it was necessary to conduct the expertise."
"There are some background recordings, and my client, who has nothing to hide, is ready to confirm whether the voice on these recordings is his, and therefore there will be no need for expertise," the lawyer said.
He also stated that in the articles by the UOJ, the Russian Federation is not mentioned in a positive context but only as an aggressor state that attacked Ukraine.
"And accordingly, there are reasonable grounds to doubt the correctness of this expertise and to disagree with it," emphasized Valeriy Stupnitsky's lawyer.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that UOJ journalists are being held in SIZO despite medical opinions and arguments.
