Father of UOC Khmelnytskyi Eparchy abbot dies defending Ukraine

Mykhailo Slobodianiuk, the father of the dean for monastery affairs of the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy and the abbot of the John the Forerunner Monastery in the village of Velyka Kalynivka, died in the war, defending Ukraine from the Russian aggressor, as reported on June 11 on the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy’s Facebook page.

In connection with this tragic news, Archbishop Victor of Khmelnytskyi and Starokostiantyniv, the clergy, and the faithful expressed sincere condolences to the father-abbot, relatives and loved ones of the fallen warrior-defender of Ukraine.

"May the Lord grant the Heavenly Kingdom and eternal rest to the Hero of Ukraine, warrior Mykhailo," the message said.

As earlier reported, in Zhytomyr, farewell was bid to the UOC sexton who gave his life defending Ukraine.
