On June 28, 2024, a raider assembly was held at the premises of the Irpin City Council, where a group of OCU activists "transferred" St. Nicholas Church of the UOC. According to the Dozor_kozaaak1 Telegram channel, people with no connection to the parish voted to remove the deceased priest Volodymyr Bormashev, who died during a shelling by Russian artillery.
According to Archpriest Oleksandr Fedorychko, dean of the Irpin district, the event was overseen by the mayor of the city, Oleksandr Markushyn, who provided the premises for the illegal assembly.
"The organization was handled by the notorious criminal and serial raider Serhiy Vozny and Ihor Hryshachev. Unfortunately, the raider assembly was supported by two former UOC priests (in the photo, they are trying to hide their faces)," the statement said.
It is noted that after the vote by people who had no connection to the religious community, the organizers began falsifying documents for the church.
"The activists were led by the notorious OCU cleric Serhiy Chudinovych, known for using a flag instead of an altar," the channel added.
As the UOJ reported, OCU supporters seized St. George's Church in Irpin.
