On July 28, 2024, lightning struck people in the "Patriot" park in the Moscow Region, injuring three people, two of whom are in serious condition, TASS reported citing emergency services.

According to social media, the victims were heading from the main "Armed Forces Church" of the Russian Federation.

"Two men and a 61-year-old woman were walking nearby when lightning struck their umbrella. After that, everyone fell to the ground," reported aif.

The woman remained conscious and got up on her own. The injured men stayed on the ground. When the medics arrived, the men were no longer breathing. Doctors attempted to resuscitate them in the square in front of the church and then hospitalized them.

Two men are in extremely critical condition, and one of them is being revived. The woman was diagnosed with a moderate hypertensive crisis.

Later, information emerged about another person injured by the lightning strike.

As previously reported, in the USA, lightning struck a group of 50 young Mormons.
