On August 8, a court hearing took place to decide on a measure of restraint for Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv in one of his cases, as reported by the vycherpno website.

The bishop joined the hearing online.

Prosecutor Kateryna Kostenko requested that the court impose 24/7 house arrest, citing risks that the bishop might hide or influence witnesses.

In response, defence attorney Volodymyr Yudin pointed out that his client had never violated any court-imposed obligations. "On July 26, Metropolitan Theodosiy was discharged from hospital. He technically could not attend the hearing. All the risks mentioned by the prosecutor have been reviewed multiple times," said defence attorney Tamara Hridenko.

The court decided to impose a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM with an electronic monitoring device.

According to a decision by the Prydniprovsky District Court of Cherkasy, the bishop is currently under round-the-clock house arrest.

The next hearing in this case is scheduled for September 2 at 2:10 PM.

As the UOJ wrote, on June 19, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine in Cherkasy conducted another search at the residence of Metropolitan Theodosiy. As the bishop reported on his Telegram channel, the formal reason for this fourth search was a criminal case related to a sermon given to one of the persecuted communities in Cherkasy region. However, he believes the real reason is his refusal to participate in an exchange as a "prisoner-of-war enemy". Later, the SBU served a fifth suspicion notice to Metropolitan Theodosiy (Snigirev).

The metropolitan later underwent heart surgery.
