The Ukrainian Orthodox Church is the only force in Ukraine capable of leading several hundred thousand people to a peaceful rally, said political analyst Kirill Molchanov on the Nash TV channel on July 27, 2021.

“Not a single political party is able to organize Ukrainians for some kind of processions, actions, even trade unions are not able to bring such a number to the streets,” the expert noted, commenting on the large-scale cross procession of the UOC in Kyiv on the occasion of the Day of the Baptism of Rus’.

Such large-scale peaceful actions organized by the UOC testify to the public's confidence in it, he stressed.

“This is an indicator that the Church as an institution is trusted in society. On this day, the faithful are united and are ready, despite the hot climatic conditions, to come to Kyiv from all over Ukraine and walk in this cross procession from the Vladimir Hill to the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra,” stated Kirill Molchanov.

As reported, on July 27, 2021, a large-scale procession of the UOC with miraculous icons and relics of St. Prince Vladimir, dedicated to the celebration of the 1033rd anniversary of the Baptism of Rus’, took place in Kyiv.

The UOJ live-streamed the Great Cross Procession – 2021.

According to preliminary estimates, voiced by the UOC Chancellor, over 350 thousand believers took part in the Cross Procession – 2021.
