On August 21, 2021, the head of the Phanar, Patriarch Bartholomew, stated that all the so-called “new” Churches were created from the “body” of the Patriarch of Constantinople.
During the "doxology" at St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery, Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople said that not only the "Ukrainian Church" but also the Russian, Serbian, the Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia, and "in general, all the so-called ‘new’ Churches were created from our body".
He also said that he feels at home in Kyiv not only because he has been here before but also because the Kyiv Metropolis historically belonged to the Patriarchate of Constantinople.
As reported, according to Dumenko, Churches that do not recognize the OCU do not recognize their own autocephaly either.
