On September 18, 2024, Archpriest Nikita Chekman, a lawyer for the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, reported on the results of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) searches at the Vvedensky Monastery in Kyiv. In a video published on his Telegram channel, the priest said that the searches had concluded, and the monastery resumed its activities.
According to the lawyer, the SBU conducted the search as part of two criminal cases. In total, the officials had four warrants authorizing these searches.
"SBU officers inspected all the monastery’s premises. During the searches, they seized mobile phones, a computer, and flash drives from two monks. The monastery is now operating normally, and all services are being held according to schedule," Father Nikita stated.
He added that many lawyers, including representatives of the Kyiv Regional Bar Council, came to support the brethren of the Vvedensky Monastery.
"We are thankful to all the lawyers for their support, and to everyone who is praying for the defense team and for the holy monastery," the priest added.
As the UOJ previously reported, lawyer Nikita Chekman had earlier provided updates on the progress of the searches at the Saint-Vvedensky Monastery.
