Delegation of UOC to take part in enthronement of Metropolitan Joanikije
The enthronement of the newly elected Metropolitan Joanikije of Montenegro and the Littoral will take place on September 5 in the Cetinje Monastery
On September 4, with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, a delegation of the UOC that includes Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, the UOC Chancellor, and Metropolitan Sergius of Ternopil and Kremenets, arrived in the capital of Montenegro, Podgorica, to take part in the enthronement of Montenegrin-Littoral Metropolitan Joanikije.
At the airport in Podgorica, the delegation of the UOC was met by the newly elected Metropolitan Joannikije (Mićović) of Montenegro and the Littoral and Bishop Methodius (Ostoić) of Budimlja and Nikšić.
The enthronement of the newly elected Metropolitan Joannikije of Montenegro-Littoral will take place on September 5 in the Cetinje Monastery.
Bishop Joanikije (Mićović) of Budimlja and Nikšić was elected head of the Montenegrin-Littoral Metropolitanate at the Bishops' Council of the SOC on May 29.
As the UOJ previously reported, the UN said that division was provoked in Montenegro due to the enthronement of the Metropolitan of the SOC.
