On October 13, 2024, Pope Francis once again called for an immediate ceasefire on all fronts and stated that war is a failure for everyone, especially for those who consider themselves invincible, reports vaticannews.va.

He stressed the importance of a diplomatic path and dialogue that should bring about peace, noting that he continues to watch the developments in Ukraine and the Middle East with concern.

The Pope expressed his solidarity with all those involved in the conflicts in Palestine, Israel, and Lebanon, and called for respect for UN peacekeepers.

He voiced his hope that "these immense and futile sufferings, caused by hatred and revenge, will soon come to an end."

"Brothers and sisters, war is an illusion, it is a failure. It will never bring peace, it will never bring security: it is a failure for everyone, especially for those who consider themselves invincible. Stop, please!" the Pope declared.

"I appeal to the world not to let Ukrainians die from the cold, to stop air strikes on civilians, who always suffer the most. Stop killing the innocent!"

Previously, the UOJ reported that Pope Francis urged an end to the killing of innocents in Ukraine.
