Leonid Tymko, Junior Sergeant of the 107th Brigade, 92nd Battalion, stated that his commander sent UOC believer Larysa Zburliuk to the “frontline” as punishment for standing up in defense of the Church. The video was recorded and posted on TikTok by a blogger from the OCU, “priest” Vasyl Kovtash.

“It is notable that a member of the Ukrainian Armed Forces openly discusses the positioning of frontline brigades on camera, yet faces no accountability,” commented social media users in response to the video.

The comment from the soldier has been viewed nearly 20,000 times on Vasyl Kovtash’s page.

Orthodox communities on social media noted that Larysa Zburliuk, a UOC parishioner and military servicewoman who spoke out in defense of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, is no longer serving; “The Lord protected her from death on the frontline.”

As previously reported by the UOJ, a UOC church was taken in Vidniv following a provocation by the OCU and UGCC at a soldier’s funeral.
