OCU Priest Roman Gryshchuk says Americans are Stupid and Democracy is Feckless

Roman Gryshchuk, the notorious church raider and priest of Constantinople's Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) took a break from bludgeoning women with pipes and receiving awards to delve into US politics.

In a recent Facebook post, Gryshchuk expresses his utter confusion as to how Americans could vote for President Donald Trump. "How could half of America believe a liar... Why such mass support for an uneducated, irresponsible narcissist?"

Gryshchuk's answer is revealing: Americans are lazy, we're "tired of thinking or have never tried it."

In Gryshchuk's mind, American's are "simple people," We find the "complex language" of candidates like Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and Kamala Harris to be "infuriating." In his own words, "ordinary people [Americans] feel humiliated by incomprehensible terms, but fail to admit it—they blame the interlocutor. So, the one who speaks in simpler terms is considered 'his'."

Clearly, Gryshchuk isn't an English speaker. In my many years of political awareness and activism, I cannot think of a single time in which any Democratic candidate for President has used a word I wasn't familiar with. I can think of many times when I couldn't understand Joe Biden, but that's because of his acute mental decline, leading him to stumble and ramble incoherently. Kamala Harris, on the other hand, is well known for her inability to speak in an intelligent manner—even botching interviews in which her team had pre-approved the questions to be asked.

Gryshchuk goes on to imply that only the weak support Trump, who (while being an "idiot") manipulates the masses of unintelligent voters. He believes that in American politics "knowledge is a flaw," and because Americans can't think, "Democracy is just a wrapper."

A populist always sculpts those weaker than themselves... The scenario is not new: a nation that is looking for simple solutions, every time again opens the door of a demagogue. Instead of a complex democracy with its processes, compromises and responsibility - it chooses the illusion of simplicity... knowledge is a flaw... in the fight for power, intelligence is a disadvantage.... The lesson is simple and hard: democracy without a thinking voter is just a wrapper.

In spite of claiming to stand for "democracy," just two days before this post, Gryshchuk was publicly advocating for imposing fines on Ukrainians who advocate for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) online. He, of course, calls them the "Moscow Church," as he is commanded to do by OCU leadership. Remember, these are the same people claiming there is "no religious persecution in Ukraine,"

This was also the same day which Gryshchuk chose to hop on Facebook to praise Stephan Bandera and Yaroslav Stetsko—Nazi collaborators who later turned on the Nazis, not because they disagreed with the mass killing of Jews, but out of a desire to kill Poles, Russians, and Gypsies in Western Ukraine.

This, and the fact that Gryshchuk regularly enlists members of Nazi (or "Banderite") organizations such as the Azov Divisions, Right Sector, and National Corps, to help him seize churches, leads us to an important question: is "democracy" compatible with nazi ideology?

Are avowed nazi collaborators capable of running a democratic society in which the rights, opinions, and conscience of all are allowed to co-exist, and battles are relegated to the debate stage?

Probably not.

If he were anyone else, I'd probably suggest Gryshchuk stick to what he's good at. But since the only thing he is good at is beating up old women, I'd better encourage him to continue running his mouth and making his "church" and their sponsors look like tyrants and hypocrites.
