NEW YORK — His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America has appointed the Rev. Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne Fr. Gregory Stamkopoulos as Director of the Department of Greek Education for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.
“Fr. Gregory Stamkopoulos brings to this role a distinguished record of service, academic accomplishment, and a steadfast commitment to the promotion of Hellenic education, culture and Orthodox Christian values across the United States,” the Orthodox Observer reported.
As Director, Stamkopoulos will oversee initiatives to strengthen Greek language and cultural education across the Archdiocese, support educators, and build on the Archdiocese’s longstanding mission to preserve and promote the Hellenic heritage in the United States.
The Archdiocese extended its appreciation to Dr. Koularmanis for his contributions and offered heartfelt prayers for Fr. Stamkopoulos as he begins this new chapter in ministry and educational leadership.
