Vladimir Zelensky is in favour of Ukraine's accession to the Istanbul Convention, so the Office of the President is completing preparations for submitting to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine a draft law "On Ratification of the EC Convention on the Prevention and Combating of Violence against Women and Domestic Violence".
Zelensky said that the President supports steps to protect the rights of victims of domestic and gender-based violence, as well as ensure an appropriate response to cases of such violence. “The position of Vladimir Zelensky regarding the need for Ukraine to join this Convention is principled and unchanged. After the completion of the relevant procedures, the Head of State will be ready to submit this draft law to the parliament for consideration,” reports the official website of the President of Ukraine.
The OP also said that now "the most important issue is the consolidation of the efforts of all parties around Ukraine's ratification of the Istanbul Convention".
As reported, in Kryvyi Rih, the laity began to collect signatures against the Istanbul Convention.
