Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to Visit U.S. in September

NEW YORK, NY — His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will visit the United States in September 2025, welcomed by Archbishop Elpidophoros and the Orthodox faithful. The visit coincides with the Templeton Foundation awarding him the prestigious Templeton Prize for his pioneering work in bridging science and spirituality to promote environmental stewardship across faiths.
Arriving at Joint Base Andrews on September 15, Patriarch Bartholomew will meet President Donald Trump, Congressional leaders, and the diplomatic corps in Washington, D.C. On September 17, he will preside over a Great Doxology at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church in Falls Church, Virginia.
On September 18, he will travel to New York City for a Patriarchal Doxology at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine. His schedule includes addressing the Council on Foreign Relations, meeting young adult leaders, and attending the St. Nicholas Gala. On September 20, recognized as "Green Patriarch" on International World Coastal Cleanup Day, he will be honored at Stony Brook University and lead the Synaxis of Hierarchs.
The visit culminates with the Templeton Prize ceremony on September 24 and a farewell luncheon on September 25, hosted by Archbishop Elpidophoros.
