Patr. Bartholomew to Meet Trump at White House

WASHINGTON, DC — Patriarch Bartholomew will meet President Donald Trump at the White House on September 16, a highlight of his U.S. visit from September 15 to 25. The meeting follows the Templeton Foundation’s announcement awarding Bartholomew its prestigious prize for his groundbreaking efforts in uniting science and spirituality to promote environmental stewardship, inspiring diverse faiths to protect Creation.

Arriving September 15 at Andrews Air Force Base near Washington, D.C., Bartholomew will be accompanied by Archbishop Elpidophoros of America for the Trump meeting. The Patriarch will also engage with members of Congress, the Senate, and diplomatic representatives during his stay. His visit emphasizes dialogue on global issues, reflecting his influential role in fostering interfaith environmental action.

On September 17, Bartholomew will preside over a doxology at Saint Katherine Church in Falls Church, Virginia. He then travels to New York City for events, including a keynote address at the Council on Foreign Relations and the St. Nicholas Gala in his honor. The Trump meeting underscores Bartholomew’s global stature in promoting unity and environmental care.
