AUG. 1, 2025 — Damascene Press has announced plans to publish a large-print (kliros) and personal reference edition of Monk Joseph (Isaac) Lambertsen’s English translation of 'The Octoechos,' with release expected in early 2026. Both editions will feature red-and-black text and leather binding.

Monasteries and parishes with daily services are invited to request draft copies by contacting octoechos@damascenepress.org, with the opportunity to contribute to the editorial process.

'The Octoechos,' composed by St. John of Damascus following a miraculous healing by the Mother of God, provides hymns for the daily offices of the Church in an eight-week cycle.

Benefactors and faithful are encouraged to offer prayers to St. John of Damascus, patron of Damascene Press, and can learn more about the project at damascenepress.org/pages/octoechos.

In parallel with publication, the Lambertsen Foundation plans to release the text under a free public license for use by publishers, musicians, parishes, and the wider Orthodox community.

Founded in 2021 with the blessing of the late Metropolitan Hilarion of New York, the Lambertsen Foundation oversees Damascene Press and serves as steward of the complete literary works of Monk Joseph (Isaac) Lambertsen.

Also available from Damascene Press is St. Ephraim the Syrian's "A Spiritual Psalter or Reflections on God."
