Schedule Announced for Ordination of Bishop-Elect Vasily in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO — The Diocese of the West (OCA) has released the schedule for the episcopal ordination of Bishop-elect Right Rev. Archimandrite Vasily Permiakov.
The Rite of Election will take place Friday, August 15, at 6 p.m. at Holy Trinity Cathedral, followed by Vespers. Limited parking will be available at Saint Brigid’s that evening.
On Saturday, August 16, Metropolitan Tikhon will be greeted at 9 a.m. and will preside over the Rite of the Profession of Faith and the hierarchical Divine Liturgy, during which Archimandrite Vasily will be ordained Bishop of San Francisco and the West. A luncheon banquet will follow at 12:45 p.m. at McCormick & Kuleto’s in Ghirardelli Square, with Vespers served afterward at 4 p.m.
Bishop Vasily will celebrate his first hierarchical Divine Liturgy on Sunday, August 17, at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Cathedral. More information can be found on the Diocese of the West website.
Previously, UOJ reported that on July 16, Archimandrite Vasily (Permiakov) was elected Bishop of San Francisco and the West for the Orthodox Church in America.
