KHERSON — A Russian projectile hit the grounds of St. Catherine Cathedral in Kherson on the afternoon of August 21, according to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church’s Information and Education Department.

The strike damaged the cathedral’s chancel, shattered windows, and left visible marks on the façade. Several headstones on the church grounds were also affected, diocesan officials reported.

Previously, UOJ reported that Archimandrite Peter (Krivitsky), a monk of the “Quick to Hear” Monastery in the village of Babai, Kharkiv Diocese, was killed by a Russian drone strike.
