On September 2, 2025, officers of the Military Commissariat (TRC) detained Bishop Seraphim (Kadubyansky) of Novovorontsovsk, vicar of the Nova Kakhovka eparchy. Along with him, Hieromonk Havyil (Kinashchuk) was also seized. At present, the clergymen are being held at a military training ground in Rivne region. The UOJ learned this from its own sources.
Bishop Seraphim is a Candidate of Theology. On October 23, 2024, by decision of the Holy Synod of the UOC, he was appointed Bishop of Novovorontsovsk and vicar of the Nova Kakhovka Eparchy. At the same time, the Novovorontsovsk vicariate was temporarily attached to the Kherson Eparchy. His episcopal consecration took place on October 30, 2024, at the St. Panteleimon Monastery in Feofaniya.
Earlier, the UOJ's Ukrainian branch (SPZh) reported that in Ternopil, TRC officers detained a UOC clergyman.
