PASADENA, CA — The Antiochian Orthodox Christian Women of North America will continue their North American Board’s (NAB) “Shared Act of Mercy” initiative in 2026 by supporting Casa Cuna, the infant orphanage operating within St. Innocent Orphanage at Project Mexico. Casa Cuna, which opened in June 2025, is the only Orthodox infant orphanage in North America and currently cares for about a dozen Orthodox Christian infants.
According to a release from the Antiochian Archdiocese of North America, the ongoing effort seeks to provide material and financial support for the infants entering and leaving the orphanage, as well as for the caregivers who provide daily care and spiritual nurturing. Donations may be made directly through Project Mexico, and supporters can also send supplies through the orphanage’s Amazon Wish List, with items shipped directly to Casa Cuna. Chapters purchasing from the list are asked to identify themselves in the order note and notify project staff by email.

Contributions by check should be marked “Antiochian Women Fundraiser” and mailed to Project Mexico’s Pasadena address.
NAB leadership encourages Antiochian Women to share the humanitarian appeal widely and to continue developing local Acts of Mercy in their own chapters. Ideas for additional outreach projects may be submitted to the national board.
