Wooden St. Nicholas Church burnt down in Mukachevo Eparchy of UOC

On the night of January 18, 2022, in the village Stuzhytsia of the Uzhhorod district, Transcarpathian region, the St. Nicholas the Wonderworker Church of the UOC burned down, reports the Mukachevo Eparchy of UOC on its Facebook page.
It is noted that the rector of the St. Nicholas community, Archpriest Viktor Petrik, assumes that the church was set on fire as it started from the front door.
The wooden St. Nicholas Church in Stuzhytsia was reconstructed in 1905. Historical documents mention the existence of a church in this village as early as the 18th century.
