A Russian translation of the book “The Ukrainian Church Issue” by one of the most authoritative hierarchs of the Greek Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Seraphim of Piraeus, has been published, reports the website doctorantura.ru.
The book published by the “Poznanie” Publishing House contains articles by Vladyka Seraphim written in the period 2018-2020 as a response to the events in the church life of Ukraine, which began with the non-canonical granting of the “tomos of autocephaly” by Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople to a group of Ukrainian schismatics.
In his publications, most of which are published in Russian for the first time, Metropolitan Seraphim assesses these tragic events for world Orthodoxy. The preface to the book was written by the head of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarch, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk.
As reported, the book "The Modern Ukrainian Issue and its Solution According to the Sacred Canons" by the hierarch of the Church of Cyprus, Metropolitan Nikiforos of Kykkos and Tellyria, was published in Russian.
