SINGAPORE — The first Orthodox prayer book in the Indonesian language has been published, marking a significant milestone for Orthodox Christians in Indonesia.

The book was officially presented on December 14 at the St. Vladimir Episcopal Representation Church in Bekasi, according to the Russian Church’s Patriarchal Exarchate of Southeast Asia. It was prepared and published with the blessing of Met. Sergei of Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Church officials said the prayer book is intended to strengthen the spiritual life of local faithful by encouraging conscious prayer and deeper participation in the Church’s liturgical tradition. It is expected to be particularly helpful for new converts to Christianity, as it offers a structured approach to understanding and practicing the Orthodox prayer rule.

The publication reflects the continued growth and pastoral development of Orthodox communities in the region. The Russian Patriarchal Exarchate of Southeast Asia currently includes fourteen parishes serving Orthodox believers across Southeast Asia.

Previously, UOJ shared an interview with Craig Patrick Truglia regarding his Orthodox mission to Southeast Asia.
